All five highest-rated locations are independent, local or regional coffee businesses, ahead of the Starbucks and Dunkin' locations included in the comparison.

The ranking combines Google ratings and review counts collected Oct. 10-17, 2026, with the latest Georgia Department of Public Health inspection scores available through The Columbus Times restaurant score database. Local Coffee Shops Take the Top Spots

Harvest Coffee Company, at 2910 2nd Ave., holds the highest Google rating in the comparison with 4.8 stars from 449 reviews. Its latest health inspection was Feb. 5, 2026, when it received a 91, an A grade under Georgia's scoring system.

Midtown Coffee House follows with 4.7 stars from 724 reviews. The 13th Street business also received a perfect 100 on its latest inspection, conducted Feb. 5, 2026.

Iron Bank Coffee Company and Fountain City Coffee both have 4.6 stars, but Iron Bank ranks higher because it has more reviews. Its 1,736 reviews are the most of any coffee shop in the comparison, while Fountain City has 973.

Both businesses also received perfect 100 inspection scores in 2026. Iron Bank's latest inspection was Feb. 12, while Fountain City's was July 17.

Rounding out the top five is 7 Brew Coffee at 8133 Veterans Parkway, with 4.6 stars from 128 reviews. Its latest inspection score was 93 on July 13, 2026.

Four of the five highest-rated locations are on Second Avenue, 13th Street, 11th Street or Broadway. The fifth, 7 Brew, is on Veterans Parkway.

How Starbucks and Dunkin' Compare

The six Starbucks locations have Google ratings ranging from 3.6 to 4.3 stars. The highest-rated Starbucks in this comparison is at 7026 Ruffie Way, with 4.3 stars from 780 reviews and a latest inspection score of 99.

The Starbucks at 6783 Veterans Parkway has 4.2 stars and 1,383 reviews, while the Bradley Park Drive location also has 4.2 stars, with 1,270 reviews. Both received perfect scores on their latest inspections.

Dunkin's five locations range from 3.5 to 4.0 stars. Its Manchester Expressway and Midland Commons Boulevard stores share the highest Dunkin' rating, although Manchester ranks higher because it has more reviews.

The lowest Google rating among all 18 businesses belongs to Dunkin' at 3201 Macon Road, with 3.5 stars from 528 reviews. Its latest inspection score, however, was 96, an A grade.

Nine Coffee Shops Received Perfect Inspection Scores

Nine of the 18 coffee shops received 100 on their most recent health inspections. Those locations include both independent coffee businesses and national chains.

Georgia assigns an A grade to inspection scores of 90 through 100 and a B to scores of 80 through 89.
