• Credit us. Include the byline and the line "This story was originally published by Columbus Times," linked to the original story.
• Point search engines to our original. Add a canonical tag to your page’s <head> that links to our story, so Google credits the original: <link rel="canonical" href="https://columbustimes.com/story/..."> (use the story’s full address). On WordPress, paste our story’s address into the “Canonical URL” field in Yoast SEO, Rank Math or All in One SEO.
• Don't change the meaning. You may trim for length or adjust to your house style, but don't alter the facts, quotes, or substance of the story.
• Photos aren't included. Some photos belong to other photographers or organizations. Ask us before using any photo.
• Don't sell our stories or charge readers specifically to read them.
• Let us know. Send us a link when you republish so we can see where our reporting goes.
