As part of this collaboration, the partners have launched the “It’s Better Together” campaign to combat opioid addiction. “No one should have to struggle with opioids alone. It’s better together,” said Dr. Timothy Tyler, the project leader at JTCHS. He continued by sharing that “as part of this month's initiative, the campaign is a critical safety net for individuals and families. Combined with evidence-based, compassionate behavioral health care, these efforts are designed to address a wide array of wellness needs.”

Reinforcing the mission to stop suicide before it starts, JTCHS emphasizes that community connection is a vital protective factor. Through outreach initiatives like the ‘It’s Better Together’ campaign, JTCHS works to eliminate the stigma of asking for help, foster open conversations about mental health, and bridge the gap between isolated individuals and professional care.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, an estimated 6.1 million people ages 12 or older reported having an opioid use disorder in 2022. While overdose deaths are decreasing, opioids remain a major contributor, highlighting the continued need for education, prevention, and access to treatment resources.

If you or someone you know is struggling with opioids like fentanyl, heroin, or pain pills, do know that help is closer than you think and recovery is within reach. Always here to help, JTCHS connects individuals to compassionate, evidence-based care. The organization offers Medication for Opioid Use Disorder (MOUD) in outpatient primary care, support from trained, compassionate providers, and linkage to additional services.
