Kerry Douglas’ Blacksmoke Music Worldwide Expands Its Empire With Film & Reality TV Building A Diverse Entertainment Content Slate
Led by CEO Kerry Douglas, the three-time #1 ranked Gospel music label has been strategically developing a diverse slate of content designed to engage audiences across multiple platforms. From music and artist-driven programming to film and reality television, Blacksmoke Music Worldwide is building a broader entertainment ecosystem that reflects the company's commitment to creating valuable, compelling, and life-changing content.
At the center of the company's latest expansion is the “Don’t Pop That Balloon” franchise. This unique dating concept turns the unpredictable dynamics of modern relationships into entertainment.
DON’T POP THAT BALLOON: THE MOVIE: Fresh out of a relationship that went nowhere, Ashley finds herself unexpectedly thrust into the world of viral dating television when her best friend tricks her into participating in a dating show designed to help singles find love. But as the cameras roll and potential connections emerge, Ashley quickly discovers that dating isn't always as simple as choosing who stays and who goes—and sometimes, some balloons are meant to be popped. The feature film brings the popular dating-show concept to scripted entertainment, following a cast of hopeful singles who quickly discover that finding genuine love can be far more complicated once the cameras stop rolling.
Lee Shelton wrote and directed “Don’t Pop That Balloon: The Movie,” with Kerry Douglas as Executive Producer and Shaylen Young as Associate Producer. The film stars Bigg Jah (Jahdai Pickett), Suqura Shannon, Matthew Newsome, Ten Olaosebikan, Jae'Lee Jackson and Deshae Shelton.

DON’T POP IT: LOVE MOUNTAIN EDITION Reality Series Blacksmoke is also bringing the concept to unscripted television with “Don’t Pop It: Love Mountain Edition,” a reality dating competition that puts potential relationships to the ultimate test.
The series, which received placement through Tubi Creatorverse, follows singles as they attempt to win over a room full of potential matches. With attraction, personalities, and honest conversations colliding, contestants must navigate the pressure of making a connection before someone decides to pop the balloon.
Hosted by De'Shaé Shelton, the series delivers an unpredictable combination of romance, competition and personalities, creating moments that can change the course of a connection in an instant.
